The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do you know who the bankrupt person is?"They replied, "Messenger of Allah, among us the bankrupt person is one who has neither dirham nor Dinar nor any goods."He said, "The bankrupt one of my ummah on the Day of Resurrection is the one who comes with prayer, fasting, and zakat, but he comes having insulted this one, slandered that one, consumed the wealth of another, and struck yet another. So he is made to sit, and this one takes from his good deeds and that one takes from his good deeds. If his good deeds run out before his debts are settled, then their sins are taken and cast upon him, and he is then thrown into the Fire."Abdul-Rahman, meaning Ibn Mahdi, said, "fa-yuqtass" (retribution is taken). Abdul-Rahman also said, "before what he owes is settled."
