The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to seek out silk garments and tear them off.
حدثنا أبو عبد الرحمن حدثنا حيوة أخبرنا أبو هانئ أن أبا سعيد الغفاري أخبره أنه
كان رسول الله ﷺ يتبع الحرير من الثياب فينزعه
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Saeed Ghifari was mentioned by Ibn Hibban in Thiqat. Ibn Hajar said in Taajil, "What is found in the copy of our shaykh from Ibn Hibban's Thiqat, which is in the handwriting of Hafiz Abu Ali Bakri, is Abu Saad, with the ain silent, and he said, the freed slave of the Banu Ghifar." I likewise saw it this way in Tartib al-Musnad by Ibn al-Hubb, and it is the same in Kuna by Abu Ahmad. It also appears in the Musnad as "Abu Saeed, freed slave of Ghifar," number 9429.
