"By Allah, Allah has not created any believer who hears of me or sees me except that he loves me."I asked, "How do you know this, Abu Hurairah?"He replied, "My mother was a polytheist woman, and I used to call her to Islam, but she refused. One day I called her, and she said something about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that I detested. So I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ weeping and said, 'Messenger of Allah, I have been calling my mother to Islam and she refuses. Today I called her and she said about you what I detest. So pray to Allah to guide the mother of Abu Hurairah.'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'O Allah, guide the mother of Abu Hurairah.'So I went out running, eager to bring her the good news of the Messenger of Allah's prayer ﷺ. When I reached the door, I found it shut. I heard the splashing of water and the soft sound of footsteps. She called out, 'Abu Hurairah, stay where you are.' Then she opened the door, having put on her shift and hastily covering herself with her head-covering. She said, 'I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger ﷺ.'I returned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ weeping for joy as I had wept from grief, and I said, 'Messenger of Allah, rejoice. Allah has answered your prayer and has guided the mother of Abu Hurairah.'Then I said, 'Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah to make me and my mother beloved to His believing servants, and to make them beloved to us.'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'O Allah, make this little servant of Yours and his mother beloved to Your believing servants, and make the believers beloved to them.'So Allah has not created any believer who hears of me, or sees me, or sees my mother, except that he loves me."
حدثنا عبد الرحمن حدثنا عكرمة بن عمار حدثني أبو كثير
لنا والله ما خلق الله مؤمنا يسمع بي ولا يراني إلا أحبني قلت وما علمك بذلك يا أبا هريرة قال إن أمي كانت امرأة مشركة وإني كنت أدعوها إلى الإسلام وكانت تأبى علي فدعوتها يوما فأسمعتني في رسول الله ﷺ ما أكره فأتيت رسول الله ﷺ وأنا أبكي فقلت يا رسول الله إني كنت أدعو أمي إلى الإسلام وكانت تأبى علي وإني دعوتها اليوم فأسمعتني فيك ما أكره فادع الله أن يهدي أم أبي هريرة فقال رسول الله ﷺ اللهم اهد أم أبي هريرة فخرجت أعدو أبشرها بدعاء رسول الله ﷺ فلما أتيت الباب إذا هو مجاف وسمعت خضخضة الماء وسمعت خشف رجل يعني وقعها فقالت يا أبا هريرة كما أنت ثم فتحت الباب وقد لبست درعها وعجلت عن خمارها فقالت إني أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأن محمدا عبده ورسوله ﷺ فرجعت إلى رسول الله ﷺ أبكي من الفرح كما بكيت من الحزن فقلت يا رسول الله أبشر فقد استجاب الله دعاءك وقد هدى أم أبي هريرة فقلت يا رسول الله ادع الله أن يحببني أنا وأمي إلى عباده المؤمنين ويحببهم إلينا فقال رسول الله ﷺ اللهم حبب عبيدك هذا وأمه إلى عبادك المؤمنين وحببهم إليهما فما خلق الله مؤمنا يسمع بي ولا يراني أو يرى أمي إلا وهو يحبني
