The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the one who prepared your food brings it to you, having spared you the trouble of its heat and smoke, invite him to eat with you. If you do not, then at least place a morsel of it in his hand."
وقال رسول الله ﷺ إذا جاءكم الصانع بطعامكم قد أغنى عنكم عناء حره ودخانه فادعوه فليأكل معكم وإلا فلقموه في يده

This hadith is sahih, based on the authenticity of the Sahifah, and it is found in Sahifah Munfaridah, number 83, though the two sheikhs did not narrate it through the route of the Sahifah. It has already appeared repeatedly through various routes from Abu Hurairah, including numbers 7334, 7793, and 7968. Bukhari narrated it with the same meaning from Abu Hurairah, 5:131, 9:502–503 Fath. Muslim likewise narrated it, 2:21 Bulaq edition.As for his saying, "when the craftsman comes to you," in H it reads, "when one of you comes to the craftsmen," but the more likely explanation is that this is a printing error, since it contradicts what is found in the two manuscripts, Jami al-Masanid, and Sahifah Munfaridah.As for his saying, "falaqqimuhu" (so let him feed him a morsel), this is what is established in the original sources of the Musnad. In Sahifah Munfaridah it reads "fa-alqamuhu." Its publisher added in parentheses at the end, "or let him hand it to him in his hand," without clarifying the source of this addition. It may be from the Berlin manuscript, whose description indicates that it has no value.
