The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The truly poor person is not the one who goes about begging from people, turned away with a morsel or two, a date or two. The truly poor person is the one who has no wealth to suffice him, yet is too shy to ask people, and no one notices him so as to give him charity."
وقال رسول الله ﷺ ليس المسكين هذا الطواف الذي يطوف على الناس ترده اللقمة واللقمتان والتمرة والتمرتان إنما المسكين الذي لا يجد غنى يغنيه ويستحي أن يسأل الناس ولا يفطن له فيتصدق عليه
This is also sahih, and it is in the individual manuscript, number 74. The two Shaykhs did not narrate it through this route. Its meaning has already passed at 7530 and 7531, from the narration of Abu Salama from Abu Hurairah, and from the narration of Muhammad bin Ziyad from Abu Hurairah. Bukhari narrated it at 269-270 Fath, from the narration of Muhammad bin Ziyad. He also narrated it at 271:3 Fath, through the route of the Araj recension. He also narrated it at 152 Fath, from the narration of Ata bin Yasar and Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Amra, both from Abu Hurairah. Muslim narrated it at 1:283 Bulaq, from the narration of Araj, and from the narration of Ata bin Yasar, and from the narration of Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Amra. Bukhari narrated [7:30/9:257 Fath] only its beginning, "A woman must not fast while her husband is present without his permission," through this route.
