The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Beware of fasting continuously without breaking it. Beware of fasting continuously without breaking it."They said, "But you fast continuously, Messenger of Allah."He replied, "In that I am not like you. I pass the night while my Lord feeds me and gives me drink. So take upon yourselves only such worship as you have the strength to bear."
وقال رسول الله ﷺ إياكم والوصال إياكم والوصال قالوا إنك تواصل يا رسول الله قال إني لست في ذاكم مثلكم إني أبيت يطعمني ربي ويسقيني فاكلفوا من العمل ما لكم به طاقة
A sahih hadith, found in the individual Sahifah, number 68. Bukhari related it [3, 38/4. 181-179 Fath] through the route of the Sahifah, and in it he said, "Beware of forging connections," twice, using the phrase "twice" instead of repeating the sentence. Hafiz stated in Fath al-Bari that the repetition is established in the narration of Ahmad, and he said this indicates that his saying "twice" is an abridgment made by Bukhari or his teacher. Bukhari related it somewhat abridged compared to the narration in the Musnad, so it appears that he himself, or his teacher, is the one who abridged it, as Hafiz stated. Muslim did not relate it through the route of the Sahifah, but rather related it from the copy of Araj, and through another route, 304:1-303, Bulaq edition. This has already appeared, in similar form, through several routes, among them number 7162.
