The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Leave me be as long as I leave you alone. What destroyed those before you was their excessive questioning and their disputing with their prophets. So when I forbid you something, avoid it, and when I command you to do something, carry it out as far as you are able."
وقال رسول الله ﷺ هلك كسرى ثم لا يكون كسرى بعده وقيصر ليهلكن ثم لا يكون قيصر بعده ولتقسمن كنوزهما في سبيل الله عز وجل
This is also sahih. It appears in the individual Sahifah under number 29, accompanied at its end by the hadith "And war has been named deception." Its meaning has already appeared independently at 8097, and it will appear again in the Sahifah at 8138 duplicate. It appears in Bukhari [4:63–64 print/6:110 Fath], resembling the narration of the individual Sahifah with its addition. It appears in Muslim [8:187 print/2:271 Bulaq] through the route of the Sahifah, like the narration of the Musnad here. Bukhari related it in 6:260 of Fath, through another route, and it has already appeared in similar form at 7184, 7266, 7472, 7664.
