The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the most lying kind of talk. Do not envy one another, do not compete against one another, do not hate one another, and do not turn your backs on one another. Be brothers, servants of Allah."
وقال رسول الله ﷺ إياكم والظن فإن الظن أكذب الحديث ولا تحاسدوا ولا تنافسوا ولا تباغضوا ولا تدابروا وكونوا عباد الله إخوانا
This is a sahih hadith, with the soundness of the hadiths of the Sahifah, and it is in the individual Sahifah numbered 6. As for the hadith preceding it there, numbered 5, which is the hadith about a tree in Paradise beneath whose shade a rider travels for a hundred years without crossing it, Ahmad did not narrate it in his transmission of the Sahifah in the Musnad, but it is a sahih and established hadith. It was narrated by Ahmad 7489, Bukhari 481 (Fath), and Muslim 349:2 (Bulaq edition), all three from the copy of Aaraj, and we have indicated in the Musnad its other numbers that follow. I did not find it in the Musnad nor in the Sahihayn from the Sahifah of Hammam.This hadith, number 103, has already been given at greater length from the copy of Aaraj, 7845, and part of it has already been given in abridged form from another route on the authority of Abu Hurairah, 7862. I did not find it in the Sahihayn by way of the Sahifah. In the individual Sahifah there is an addition, "and do not artificially inflate prices against one another," before his saying, "and do not envy one another." As for his saying, "and be servants of Allah," in ح it appears as "Ubaydullah," which is a printing error contrary to all the other manuscripts and transmissions.
