The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say, "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from poverty, scarcity, and humiliation, and I seek refuge in You from wronging others or being wronged."
قال حدثنا بهز حدثنا حماد بن سلمة عن إسحاق بن عبد الله يعني ابن أبي طلحة عن سعيد بن يسار
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يقول اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الفقر والقلة والذلة وأعوذ بك أن أظلم أو أظلم
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Saeed bin Yasar, with the fatha on the ya and the sin without doubling, is Abu Hubab. In J it appears as "Bashar," which is a printing error, and we have corrected it from the manuscripts.The hadith appears in Jami al-Masanid 7:169, taken from this very place. There it says, Abu Dawud narrated it from Musa bin Ismail, from Hammad bin Salama. Nasai also narrated it through his account, from him. It is found in Abu Dawud 1544, and Nasai 2:315. It will also come again at 8294 and 8628.Its meaning will also come from another route, in the wording of a prophetic command, "Seek refuge in Allah from poverty..." This too was narrated by Nasai 2:315, Ibn Majah 3842, and Hakim 1:531.
