The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Any woman who has applied perfume should not attend the night prayer with us."
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Alqama Farwi, with a fatha on the fa and sukun on the ra, is Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Abu Farwa, Farwi Madani. He is trustworthy, and Ibn Main and others confirmed his reliability. Ibn Madini said, "He is trustworthy, I do not know that I have seen anyone in Madinah more precise than him." He died in Muharram in the year 190. Bukhari gave his biography in al-Saghir, page 211, as did Ibn Abu Hatim, 155/2/2-156, and Ibn Saad, 314:5, who said, "He met Nafi, Saeed bin Abu Saeed Maqburi, and Salt bin Yazid, and narrated from them, but he lived long enough that we met him in the year 189 in Madinah, and he died after that."Yazid bin Khusayfa, in the diminutive form, bin Abdullah bin Yazid Kindi Madani, is trustworthy, an authority, and firmly reliable. Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kabir, 345/2/4, and Ibn Abu Hatim, 274/2/4. All the compilers of the six books narrated from him.Busr bin Saeed Madani, the devoted worshipper, is a trustworthy Follower of the Companions, whose reliability was established earlier at 487. Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kabir, 1/2/123-124, and in al-Saghir, page 107, as did Ibn Abu Hatim, 423/1/1.This hadith was narrated by Muslim, 1:130, from Yahya bin Yahya and Ishaq bin Ibrahim, both of them from Farwi, with this same isnad, with the wording, "so he does not attend the last night prayer with us." It was also narrated by Abu Dawud and Nasai, as noted in al-Fath al-Kabir, 494/1. See also 07946.
