I visited Abu Hurairah at his home and asked him about fasting on the Day of Arafah while at Arafat. He replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade fasting on the Day of Arafah while at Arafat."Ubayy said, and Abdul-Rahman said, on the authority of Mahdi al-Abdi.
