The Prophet ﷺ said, "Some men living near the mosque must stop missing the night prayer in congregation, or I will set fire to the area around their houses with bundles of firewood."
حدثنا يزيد أخبرنا ابن أبي ذئب عن عجلان
أن النبي ﷺ قال لينتهين رجال ممن حول المسجد لا يشهدون العشاء الآخرة في الجميع أو لأحرقن حول بيوتهم بحزم الحطب
Its isnad is sahih, and it is in Jami al-Masanid 7:289, taken from this very passage. Haythami mentioned it in Majma al-Zawaid 2:42, saying, "Ahmad related it, and its narrators are trustworthy," and he also said, "It is in the Sahih except for his statement 'among those around the masjid,'" referring by that to the previous hadith, no. 7324, narrated by Abu Zinad from Aaraj, from Abu Hurairah. Hafiz referred to it in Fath al-Bari 2:105 regarding his statement here, "They do not attend the night prayer in the jamaah," meaning in congregation, and he attributed it to Ahmad alone.
