The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to seek refuge from four things, the punishment of Hell, the punishment of the grave, the trials of life and death, and the trial of the Dajjal.
Its isnad is sahih. Abdul-Rahman bin Thawban is Abdul-Rahman bin Thabit bin Thawban, attributed to his grandfather. It was previously mentioned at 3281 and 4968 that they disagreed about him, and that he changed in the last part of his life. We add here that the more correct view is that he is reliable. Ibn Abu Hatim gave his biography at 2/2/219, and reported from his father that he said, "Trustworthy."Abdullah bin Fadl bin Abbas bin Rabia Hashimi Madani was mentioned previously at 1888. We add here that the whole group (of hadith compilers) narrated from him, and Ibn Abu Hatim gave his biography at 2/2/136.The hadith has previously appeared with a similar meaning at 2342, within the Musnad of Ibn Abbas, from Ismail bin Umar, from Malik, from Abu Zinad, from Araj, from Abu Hurairah. Nasai reported its meaning at 2:320, through the narration of Ibn Qasim, from Malik. Its meaning also appeared previously, in the form of a command, at 7236, through the narration of Muhammad bin Abu Ayesha, from Abu Hurairah.
