By the Lord of this House, I am not the one who forbade fasting on Friday, rather it was Muhammad ﷺ who forbade it. By the Lord of this House, I am not the one who said that whoever wakes up in a state of major ritual impurity should break his fast, rather it was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said it.Abdul-Razzaq said in his narration that Yahya bin Jadah was informed by Abdullah bin Amr al-Qari that he heard Abu Hurayrah say this.
Its isnad is sahih. It has already appeared in similar wording at 7382, from Sufyan, from Amr bin Dinar, with this same chain, except that there it has "from Abdullah bin Amr Qari," as in Abdul-Razzaq's narration here. We pointed this out there. We had also explained the disagreement regarding this successor, whether he is Abdul-Rahman bin Amr or Abdullah bin Amr, and we favored Abdul-Razzaq's narration here, since Sufyan agreed with him there. Here we add that the successor is Abdullah bin Amr bin Abd Qari, and that his two uncles were Abdul-Rahman bin Abd and Abdullah bin Abd. Imam Ahmad, here, shortened the lineage of this successor who narrated this hadith, in Abdul-Razzaq's narration, when he distinguished it from Muhammad bin Bakr's narration. For Abdul-Razzaq narrated the hadith in Musannaf, splitting it into two separate hadiths, in the chapter on one who reaches the morning alive, and the chapter on fasting on Friday, volume 2, pages 238 and 262. In both places he said that Yahya bin Jadah informed him, from Abdullah bin Amr bin Abd Qari, giving his full lineage as you see. However, in the copy of Musannaf in both places, "Umar" occurs instead of "Amr." This is certainly a copyist's error. We have here added, in Abdul-Razzaq's narration, the word "from," from Musannaf and from Jami al-Masanid wal-Sunan 7:215–216, where this hadith is quoted from this passage of the Musnad. It was not mentioned in H or M, and in its place K mentioned the word "that," which is an error.
