Abu Hurairah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever performs a prayer in which he does not recite the Mother of the Quran, it is deficient, it is deficient, incomplete."Abu Saaib said to Abu Hurairah, "Sometimes I am behind the imam."Abu Saaib continued, "So he pressed my arm."Abu Saaib said to Abu Hurairah, "Sometimes I am behind the imam."Abu Saaib continued, "Abu Hurairah pressed my forearm and said, 'Persian, recite it to yourself, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Allah عز وجل said, 'I have divided the prayer between Myself and My servant into two halves. Half of it is for Me and half of it is for My servant, and My servant shall have whatever he asks for.'"'"Abu Hurairah said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Recite. The servant says, 'All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds' [Fatihah 1:2], and Allah says, 'My servant has praised Me.' The servant says, 'the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful' [Fatihah 1:3], and Allah says, 'My servant has extolled Me.' The servant says, 'Master of the Day of Judgment' [Fatihah 1:4], and Allah says, 'My servant has glorified Me.' Then He said, 'This verse is between Me and My servant.' The servant says, 'You alone we worship, and from You alone we seek help' [Fatihah 1:5]. He said, 'This one I share with My servant, and My servant shall have whatever he asks for.' He said, 'My servant says, "Guide us to the straight path, the path of those You have favored, not of those who incurred Your wrath, nor of those who went astray" [Fatihah 1:6–7].' Allah عز وجل says, 'This is for My servant, and My servant shall have whatever he asks for.'"
