The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led a prayer in which he recited aloud. After he finished and gave the salam, he turned to the people and asked, "Did any of you recite along with me just now?"They answered, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."He said, "I was wondering why I was being contended with in the Quran."So the people stopped reciting along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the prayers where he recited aloud, once they heard this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا معمر عن الزهري قال سمعت ابن أكيمة يحدث
أن رسول الله ﷺ صلى صلاة جهر فيها بالقراءة ثم أقبل على الناس بعدما سلم فقال هل قرأ منكم أحد معي آنفا قالوا نعم يا رسول الله قال إني أقول ما لي أنازع القرآن فانتهى الناس عن القراءة مع رسول الله ﷺ فيما يجهر به من القراءة حين سمعوا ذلك من رسول الله ﷺ
