The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There will be trials in which the one sitting is better than the one standing, the one standing is better than the one walking, and the one walking is better than the one running. Whoever finds a refuge or shelter, let him take refuge in it."
حدثنا إبراهيم بن خالد حدثني رباح عن معمر عن الزهري أخبرني أبو سلمة بن عبد الرحمن
قال رسول الله ﷺ ستكون فتن القاعد فيها خير من القائم والقائم خير من الماشي والماشي خير من الساعي ومن وجد ملجأ أو معاذا فليعذ به
Its chain of transmission is sahih, and it is in Jami al-Masanid 7:462. Bukhari narrated it, 13:26, by way of Shuayb, from Zuhri, from Abu Salama, from Abu Hurairah, as a marfu narration, with similar wording. He also narrated it before that, pages 25-26, by way of Ibrahim bin Saad, from his father, from Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman, from Abu Hurairah. And from Ibrahim bin Saad, from Salih bin Kaysan, from Zuhri, from Saeed bin Musayab, from Abu Hurairah. Muslim narrated it, 2:361, by way of Ibrahim bin Saad, from Salih bin Kaysan, from Zuhri, from Ibn Musayab and Abu Salama together, both of them from Abu Hurairah.Tayalisi narrated it, 2344, from Ibrahim bin Saad, from his father, from Abu Salama. Muslim likewise narrated it, 2:361-362, by way of Tayalisi.See what has already passed in the Musnad of Saad bin Abu Waqqas, 1446, 1609, and in the Musnad of Ibn Masud, 4286, 4287, and in the Musnad of Abdullah bin Amr bin As, 6987.His saying, "a refuge", is with a fatha on the meem and the unpointed ain, and it means a place of shelter.
