Its isnad is daif, due to the anonymity of Abu Ishaq, its narrator, even though the text itself is sahih, as we will mention, Allah willing. Ibn Kathir mentioned the hadith in Jami al-Masanid 7:412 together with the one following it here. He then said, "It is unique to him," meaning that the Musnad is unique in transmitting it from this angle, among the six books. He then said, "Perhaps this Abu Ishaq is the same one who comes after," and it is possible that he is someone else. This hadith has already come by the route of Suhayl bin Abu Salih, from his father, from Abu Ishaq the freedman of Zaidah, from Abu Hurairah, and Allah knows best. By "the one following it," Ibn Kathir means his statement right after it, "Abu Ishaq the freedman of Abdullah bin Harith, from Abu Hurairah, is Ishaq," as already mentioned. We will explain what Ibn Kathir is referring to after this, in the discussion of sources for the following hadith, Allah willing. As for Ibn Kathir's statement "Abu Ishaq the freedman of Zaidah," it contains an error made by the copyists, and the correct reading is "Ishaq the freedman of Zaidah," for his name was Ishaq and his kunya was Abu Abdullah, as his biography has already been given at 7673.
