A man came and the hadith of al-Fazari from the Prophet ﷺ was mentioned. He said, "My wife has given birth to a black boy," hinting that he wished to disown the child. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, "Do you have any camels?"He replied, "Yes."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "What are their colors?"He said, "Red."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Are there any dusky ones among them?"He said, "Yes, there are some dusky ones among them."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "How do you suppose that came about?"He answered, "I do not know. Perhaps some ancestral strain drew it out."The Prophet ﷺ said, "And this child of yours, perhaps some ancestral strain drew it out as well." He did not grant him permission to disown the child.
Its isnad is sahih. There is some abridgment in the body of the text, referring to the hadith of the Fazari man, meaning a man from Banu Fazara. Perhaps Abdul-Razzaq did not memorize the text precisely, so he abridged it by referring to him with this description. The hadith has already appeared in full at 7189, from Abdul-Ala, from Mamar, with this isnad. It has also appeared with similar wording at 7190, from Yazid, from Ibn Abu Dhib, from Zuhri, and at 7263, from Sufyan, from Zuhri.
