Its isnad is sahih. Abu Dawud narrated it, 795, from Hasan bin Ali, who is Hulwani, from Abdul-Razzaq, with this isnad, but in it he said, "from Ibn Musayab and Abu Salama" definitively, without mentioning the doubt expressed by "or one of them," as it appears here. This doubt has no bearing, since it is only a hesitation between two trustworthy narrators.Muslim narrated it, 1:135, through the narration of Ibn Wahb, from Yunus, from Ibn Shihab, "Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman informed me," without mentioning Ibn Musayab. Its wording was, "for among the people are the weak, the sick, and the person with a need." He then narrated it through the route of Layth, from Yunus, from Ibn Shihab, "Abu Bakr bin Abdul-Rahman told me that he heard Abu Hurairah..." with the same wording, except that he said "the elderly" instead of "the sick."Malik narrated it in Muwatta, page 134, in a similar manner but slightly longer, from Abu Zinad, from Aaraj, from Abu Hurairah. Bukhari narrated it, 2:168, and Abu Dawud, 794, and Nasai, 1:132, all of them through the route of Malik. Muslim narrated it, 1:135, and Tirmidhi, number 236, with our commentary, both of them through the route of Mughira bin Abdul-Rahman Hizami, from Abu Zinad, from Aaraj.Its meaning has already appeared in brief, 7468, from another route from Abu Hurairah.
