The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Pride and arrogance are found among the loud-voiced camel herders, the people of the tents, while tranquility is found among the people of sheep. Faith is Yemeni, and wisdom is Yemeni."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا معمر عن الزهري عن ابن المسيب وأبي سلمة أو أحدهما
قال رسول الله ﷺ الفخر والخيلاء في الفدادين من أهل الوبر والسكينة في أهل الغنم والإيمان يمان والحكمة يمانية
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Maamar's uncertainty about whether Zuhri narrated it to him from Ibn Musayab and Abu Salama together, or from just one of them alone, does not affect its soundness, because it is definitely from one of them even if unspecified, since it is only a hesitation between two trustworthy narrators. What actually happened is that Zuhri narrated it from both of them, and the uncertainty is only on Maamar's part regarding what Zuhri told him. Bukhari narrated it, 6:387, with this wording, from Abu Yaman, from Shuayb, from Zuhri, from Abu Salama, from Abu Hurairah. Muslim narrated it, 1:30, from Darimi, Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman, from Abu Yaman, with the same chain. Then Muslim narrated it right after that, from Darimi as well, from Abu Yaman, from Shuayb, from Zuhri, from Saeed bin Musayab, from Abu Hurairah. This establishes the soundness of the hadith from Zuhri through both routes together. Its meaning has already appeared, scattered across hadiths transmitted through different routes, from Abu Hurairah, 7201, 7426, 7496, 7616.
