The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever buys a she-camel or a sheep whose milk has been left to accumulate in its udder, then milks it, has the choice between two options. He may keep it, or he may return it along with a measure of food."

Its isnad is sahih. Dawud bin Farahij Madani, freedman of Qays bin Harith, is trustworthy. He heard from Abu Hurairah, as Bukhari explicitly states in al-Kabir 1/2/210, without mentioning any criticism of him, and Yahya Qattan deemed him trustworthy. In al-Tajil, Ibn Adi transmits with his own chain from Yahya Qattan, who said, "Shubah and Sufyan deemed him trustworthy." It is also reported from Qattan that Shubah declared him daif. Abu Hatim said, "Truthful." Ibn Hibban listed him among the trustworthy narrators, p. 180, and in Lisan Mizan it is noted that Ibn Shahin also listed him among the trustworthy. Ibn Saad gave his biography in 5:288, and Ibn Abu Hatim in 1/2/422. Shubah's narrating from him is a sign of his being deemed trustworthy, which resolves the disagreement reported about Shubah's view of him, for Shubah narrates only from someone trustworthy. Moreover, Dawud was not the sole narrator of this hadith from Abu Hurairah, as will be shown. This hadith will also appear in the Musnad at 9912 and 10689, via the route of Shubah, from Dawud, with the same wording. It will also appear at 9744, via the route of Yunus bin Abu Ishaq, from Mujahid, from Abu Hurairah. It was likewise narrated by Abu Naeem in al-Hilyah 3:206, and by Kharaiti in Makarim al-Akhlaq p. 37, both via the route of Yunus. Tirmidhi alluded to its narration from the hadith of Mujahid from Abu Hurairah, saying in 3:128, after narrating it via the route of Mujahid from Abdullah bin Amr (which is the hadith that appeared earlier in the Musnad at 6496), "This hadith has also been narrated from Mujahid, from Ayesha, and from Abu Hurairah as well, from the Prophet ﷺ."The Hafiz, in al-Fath 10:270, when discussing the narration of this hadith from the hadith of Ayesha and from the hadith of Abdullah bin Umar bin Khattab, pointed to this hadith of Abu Hurairah, saying, "This text was also narrated by Abu Hurairah, and it is in Sahih Ibn Hibban." It appears likely that it is there via the narration of Dawud bin Farahij, since the Hafiz said in his biographical entry in Lisan Mizan, "Ibn Hibban narrated from him in his Sahih." Munziri likewise attributed it to Sahih Ibn Hibban in al-Targhib wal-Tarhib 2:238.As for Haythami, he mentioned it in Majma al-Zawaid 8:165 and said, "Bazzar narrated it, and among its narrators is Dawud bin Farahij, who is trustworthy, though there is some weakness in him, and the rest of its narrators are trustworthy." He failed to attribute it to the Musnad, and he further failed to notice its other isnad, via the route of Yunus bin Abu Ishaq from Mujahid.
