Its isnad is sahih. Rabi bin Muslim Jumahi Qurashi is trustworthy, Ahmad and Abu Hatim and others confirmed his reliability, and Abu Dawud said, "He is the most extensively versed of people in transmitting from Muhammad bin Ziyad." Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kabir 1/2/251, and Ibn Abu Hatim in 2/1/469.The hadith was narrated by Abu Dawud 4811, and Tirmidhi 3/132, both through the route of Rabi bin Muslim, with this same wording. Tirmidhi said, "This is a hadith sahih." Munawi mentioned in Sharh al-Jami al-Saghir 9028 that Ibn Hibban also narrated it, and it will also come again in the Musnad at 7926, 8006, 9022, 9945, 10382.
