The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The example of the miser and the generous spender is like that of two men wearing iron coats of mail from their breasts to their collarbones. As for the generous spender, whenever he spends, the rings of his coat expand and stretch out over him. But as for the miser, every ring only clings tighter to its place upon him."
حدثنا يزيد أخبرنا محمد بن إسحاق عن أبي الزناد عن الأعرج
قال رسول الله ﷺ مثل البخيل والمنفق كمثل رجلين عليهما جبتان من حديد من لدن ثديهما إلى تراقيهما فأما المنفق فلا ينفق منها إلا اتسعت حلقة مكانها فهو يوسعها عليه وأما البخيل فإنها لا تزداد عليه إلا استحكاما
