The Prophet ﷺ said, "When a woman spends the night having abandoned her husband's bed, the angels curse her through the night."Ibn Jafar added, "Until she returns."
Its isnad, and Bukhari transmitted it in 9:258, and Muslim in 1:409, both through the route of Shubah, from Qatada, with this wording. As for the phrase "the angels spend the night cursing her," this is how it appears in H, M, and a copy in the margin of K, without mentioning the end point. In K, it reads "the angels spend the night cursing her until she comes back to morning."As for the phrase in the narration of Ibn Jafar "until she returns," in M it reads "returns," and it is written in its margin, "this is how it appears in two copies, 'returns,' without 'until.'"
