Ali said to me, "I am sending you on the same mission the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me on, that you leave no statue without obliterating it and no raised grave without leveling it."
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا سفيان عن حبيب عن أبي وائل
قال لي علي أبعثك على ما بعثني عليه رسول الله ﷺ أن لا تدع تمثالا إلا طمسته ولا قبرا مشرفا إلا سويته
Its isnad is sahih. Habib is Ibn Abu Thabit, a trustworthy tabii. Abu Waail is Shaqiq bin Salama. Abu Hayyaj Asadi is Hayan bin Husayn. This hadith was mentioned earlier at 657, and see also 658, 683, and 889.
