Abu Hurayrah used to say the takbir every time he went down and came up, and he would say, "I am the closest of you in prayer to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
حدثنا عبد الرحمن حدثنا مالك عن الزهري
أن أبا هريرة كان يكبر كلما خفض ورفع ويقول إني أشبهكم صلاة برسول الله ﷺ
Its isnad is sahih, and it is in Muwatta, p. 76. Bukhari related it, 2:224, from Abdullah bin Yusuf, and Muslim, 1:215, from Yahya bin Yahya, both of them from Malik, with the same chain, in similar wording.
