Two women from the tribe of Huzayl had a quarrel, and one of them threw something at the other, causing her to miscarry her unborn child. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled that the compensation for the miscarried fetus was a male or female slave.
حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي عن مالك عن الزهري عن أبي سلمة
أن امرأتين من بني هذيل رمت إحداهما الأخرى فألقت جنينا فقضى فيها رسول الله ﷺ بغرة عبد أو أمة
Its isnad is sahih. It is in Muwatta, page 855, and Bukhari related it, 10:184, from Qutayba, and Muslim, 2:30, from Yahya bin Yahya, both of them from Malik, with the same wording.
