The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you puts on his sandals, let him begin with the right foot, and when he takes them off, let him begin with the left. Either keep both on or take both off."
حدثنا عبد الأعلى بن عبد الأعلى عن معمر عن محمد بن زياد
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إذا انتعل أحدكم فليبدأ بيمينه وإذا خلع فليبدأ بشماله وقال انعلهما جميعا
Its chain is sahih. Muslim narrated it, 2:159, from Rabi bin Muslim, from Muhammad bin Ziyad, and its ending there reads, "and let him put sandals on both feet together, or take them off together." Ibn Majah also narrated it, 2:198, from Shubah, from Muhammad bin Ziyad, but he did not mention its ending.As for his saying, "put sandals on them," it means put the sandal on both feet together.
