Abdullah bin Amr bin As reported,

An Arabi came to the Prophet ﷺ wearing a cloak made of fine cloth either trimmed with brocade or buttoned with brocade. He said, "This companion of yours wants to elevate every shepherd, son of a shepherd, and to lower every horseman, son of a horseman."The Prophet ﷺ stood up angrily, seized him by the collar of his cloak, and pulled him forward, saying, "I do not see upon you the garments of one who has no sense."Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned and sat down, and said, "When death approached Nuh , he called his two sons and said, 'I am giving you a concise final instruction. I command you to do two things and I forbid you from two things. I forbid you from associating partners with Allah and from arrogance. I command you to say there is no god but Allah, for if the heavens and the earth and all that is in them were placed on one pan of the scale, and there is no god but Allah were placed on the other pan, the latter would outweigh them. And if the heavens and the earth were a single ring and there is no god but Allah were placed upon it, it would shatter it. And I command you to say glory to Allah and praise be to Him, for it is the prayer of every created thing, and by it every created thing receives its provision.'"

حدثنا وهب بن جرير حدثنا أبي سمعت الصقعب بن زهير يحدث عن زيد بن أسلم عن عطاء بن يسار

عن عبد الله بن عمرو قال

أتى النبي ﷺ أعرابي عليه جبة من طيالسة مكفوفة بديباج أو مزرورة بديباج فقال إن صاحبكم هذا يريد أن يرفع كل راع ابن راع ويضع كل فارس ابن فارس فقام النبي ﷺ مغضبا فأخذ بمجامع جبته فاجتذبه وقال لا أرى عليك ثياب من لا يعقل ثم رجع رسول الله ﷺ فجلس فقال إن نوحا عليه السلام لما حضرته الوفاة دعا ابنيه فقال إني قاصر عليكما الوصية آمركما باثنتين وأنهاكما عن اثنتين أنهاكما عن الشرك والكبر وآمركما بلا إله إلا الله فإن السموات والأرض وما فيهما لو وضعت في كفة الميزان ووضعت لا إله إلا الله في الكفة الأخرى كانت أرجح ولو أن السموات والأرض كانتا حلقة فوضعت لا إله إلا الله عليها لفصمتها أو لقصمتها وآمركما بسبحان الله وبحمده فإنها صلاة كل شيء وبها يرزق كل شيء
