A man from among the Muslims sought permission from the Prophet of Allah ﷺ to marry a woman called Umm Mahzul, who used to commit fornication and stipulated that she would support him financially. He sought the Prophet's ﷺ permission concerning her, or he mentioned her situation to him, and the Prophet ﷺ recited, "The fornicator does not marry except a fornicatress or a polytheist" [Nur 24:3].He said, "There was revealed, 'The fornicator does not marry except a fornicatress or a polytheist' [Nur 24:3]."Ubayy said, Arim said, "I asked Mutamir about Hadrami, and he replied, 'He was a storyteller, and I saw him.'"

أن رجلا من المسلمين استأذن نبي الله ﷺ في امرأة يقال لها أم مهزول كانت تسافح وتشترط له أن تنفق عليه وأنه استأذن فيها النبي ﷺ أو ذكر له أمرها فقرأ النبي ﷺ {الزانية لا ينكحها إلا زان أو مشرك} قال أنزلت {الزانية لا ينكحها إلا زان أو مشرك} قال أبي قال عارم سألت معتمرا عن الحضرمي فقال كان قاصا وقد رأيته
