The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever makes his deeds known to people so they will hear of them, Allah will make every one of His creation hear of him, and He will disgrace him and belittle him."
حدثنا محمد بن عبيد حدثنا الأعمش عن عمرو بن مرة عن أبي يزيد
قال رسول الله ﷺ من سمع الناس بعمله سمع الله به سامع خلقه وحقره وصغره
Its isnad is sahih, and it is a repetition of 6509, 6839, and 6986. As for his saying, "hearer of His creation," in [manuscript] M it is marked with a damma over the ain, and a note in its margin reads, "sami (hearer) is in the nominative case, as a description of Allah Almighty." In [manuscript] K it is marked with a fatha over the ain. We have already explained the reasoning behind both readings at 6509.
