The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Abdullah bin Umar, fast throughout the year by fasting three days of every month." Then he recited this verse, "Whoever brings a good deed shall have ten times the like of it" [Anam 6:160].I said, "I can do more than that."He said, "Then fast the fast of Dawud. He used to fast one day and break his fast the next."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن سعد بن إبراهيم عن هلال بن طلحة أو طلحة بن هلال قال سمعت
قال لي رسول الله ﷺ يا عبد الله بن عمرو صم الدهر ثلاثة أيام من كل شهر قال وقرأ هذه الآية {من جاء بالحسنة فله عشر أمثالها} قال قلت إني أطيق أكثر من ذلك قال صم صيام داود كان يصوم يوما ويفطر يوما
