A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked, "Messenger of Allah, who is the true emigrant?"He replied, "One who abandons what Allah has forbidden."
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا زكريا عن عامر
جاء رجل إلى النبي ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله من المهاجر قال من هجر ما نهى الله عنه
Its isnad is sahih. Zakariya is Ibn Abu Zaida. Amir is Shaybi. The hadith is a repetition of 6515, and we noted there that Bukhari narrated it 11:273 through Zakariya from Shaybi, and its meaning has also passed at greater length through Ismail from Shaybi, 6806. See also the hadith before this one.
