Its chain of transmission is sahih, and it is not a mursal narration as its apparent form might suggest, for it follows the two chains of transmission in the hadith before it. Ahmad narrated it from his teacher Abdul-Malik bin Amr Abu Amir Aqadi, from Ibn Abu Dhib, with the previous chain of transmission. It will come again from Abdul-Malik with this chain of transmission at 6830.
