A man came to the Prophet ﷺ seeking permission to go out for jihad.The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Are your parents alive?"The man replied, "Yes."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then strive in serving them."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن حبيب قال سمعت أبا العباس يقول سمعت
أن رجلا جاء إلى النبي ﷺ يستأذنه في الجهاد فقال أحي والداك قال نعم قال ففيهما فجاهد
Its isnad is sahih. Habib is Ibn Abu Thabit. The hadith has already appeared at 6544 through the narration of Masaar from Habib bin Abu Thabit, and we cited its various narrations there. See also 6602.
