Mutarrif bin Abdullah reported,

Nawf and Abdullah bin Amr met together. Nawf began narrating the hadith.Then Abdullah bin Amr bin As said, "Let me tell you what the Prophet ﷺ said."He said, "We prayed one night with the Prophet ﷺ. Some stayed behind to perform additional prayers, while others left. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came back, breathless, before the people had gathered again for the night prayer. He raised his finger like this, holding up twenty-nine, and pointed his index finger toward the sky, saying, 'Rejoice, company of Muslims! Your Lord has opened one of the gates of heaven, taking pride in you before the angels, saying, "My angels, look at My servants. They have fulfilled one obligation and are waiting for another."'"

عن مطرف بن عبد الله بن الشخير

أن نوفا وعبد الله بن عمرو اجتمعا فقال نوف فذكر الحديث فقال عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاصي وأنا أحدثك عن النبي ﷺ قال صلينا مع النبي ﷺ ذات ليلة فعقب من عقب ورجع من رجع فجاء رسول الله ﷺ قبل أن يثوب الناس لصلاة العشاء فجاء وقد حفزه النفس رافعا إصبعه هكذا وعقد تسعا وعشرين وأشار بإصبعه السبابة إلى السماء وهو يقول أبشروا معشر المسلمين هذا ربكم عز وجل قد فتح بابا من أبواب السماء يباهي بكم الملائكة يقول ملائكتي انظروا إلى عبادي أدوا فريضة وهم ينتظرون أخرى
