Some men were mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who exerted themselves intensely in worship. He said, "That is the eagerness of Islam and its zeal. Every eagerness has zeal, and every zeal has a period of slackening. Whoever's slackening leads him to moderation and the Sunnah, then how excellent he is. But whoever's slackening leads him to acts of disobedience, that one is the doomed."
حدثنا يزيد أخبرنا محمد بن إسحاق عن أبي الزبير عن أبي العباس مولى بني الديل
ذكر لرسول الله ﷺ رجال يجتهدون في العبادة اجتهادا شديدا فقال تلك ضراوة الإسلام وشرته ولكل ضراوة شرة ولكل شرة فترة فمن كانت فترته إلى اقتصاد وسنة فلأم ما هو ومن كانت فترته إلى المعاصي فذلك الهالك
