Ubaydullah bin Ziyad used to ask about the Pond, the Pond of Muhammad ﷺ, and he would deny its reality. He had questioned Abu Barzah, Bara bin Azib, Aaiz bin Amr, and another man about it, yet he persisted in denying it.Abu Sabra said to him, "Let me narrate to you a hadith that contains the cure for this doubt. Your father sent me with some wealth to Muawiya, and on the way I met Abdullah bin Amr. He related to me what he had heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and dictated it to me, and I wrote it down with my own hand, neither adding nor omitting a single letter. He told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Allah does not love obscenity,' or, 'Allah hates the one who is obscene and the one who feigns obscenity.'"He continued, "And the Hour will not arrive until obscenity and feigned obscenity become widespread, until the ties of kinship are severed, and neighborly conduct deteriorates, until the treacherous is trusted and the trustworthy is betrayed."He also said, "Behold, your appointed meeting place with me is at my Pond. Its breadth and its length are equal, the distance between Aylah and Makkah, a month's journey. In it are vessels like the stars, its drink whiter than silver. Whoever drinks from it once will never thirst again."Ubaydullah said, "I have not heard a hadith about the Pond more firmly established than this." So he believed it, took the written page, and kept it with him.

كان عبيد الله بن زياد يسأل عن الحوض حوض محمد ﷺ وكان يكذب به بعدما سأل أبا برزة والبراء بن عازب وعائذ بن عمرو ورجلا آخر وكان يكذب به فقال أبو سبرة أنا أحدثك بحديث فيه شفاء هذا إن أباك بعث معي بمال إلى معاوية فلقيت عبد الله بن عمرو فحدثني مما سمع من رسول الله ﷺ وأملى علي فكتبت بيدي فلم أزد حرفا ولم أنقص حرفا حدثني أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إن الله لا يحب الفحش أو يبغض الفاحش والمتفحش قال ولا تقوم الساعة حتى يظهر الفحش والتفاحش وقطيعة الرحم وسوء المجاورة وحتى يؤتمن الخائن ويخون الأمين وقال ألا إن موعدكم حوضي عرضه وطوله واحد وهو كما بين أيلة ومكة وهو مسيرة شهر فيه مثل النجوم أباريق شرابه أشد بياضا من الفضة من شرب منه مشربا لم يظمأ بعده أبدا فقال عبيد الله ما سمعت في الحوض حديثا أثبت من هذا فصدق به وأخذ الصحيفة فحبسها عنده
