The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days."Someone asked, "Not even striving in the path of Allah?"He replied, "Not even striving in the path of Allah, except for a man who goes out with his life and his wealth and does not return until his lifeblood is spilled."The narrator said, I then met Habib bin Abu Thabit and asked him about this hadith, and he related to me something similar.Abdah said, "These are the ten days."
Its chain is hasan. Ismail is Ibn Ulaya, that is, Ismail bin Ibrahim bin Muqsim Asadi, whose reliability we have already established at 1270, and we add here that Bukhari included his biography in Kabir 1/1/342.Yahya bin Abu Ishaq is Hadrami the grammarian, whose reliability we have already established at 1812, and we add here that he is among the junior Tabiin, and that he heard from Anas bin Malik, as Bukhari mentioned in his biography in Kabir 4/2/259, and as will come in the Musnad of Anas at 14046.Abda bin Abu Lubaba is a Tabii, whose reliability we have already established at 781 and 6156.Habib bin Abu Thabit is also a Tabii, whose reliability we have already established at 5468.Abu Abdullah, the freed slave of Abdullah bin Amr bin As, whose biography Hafiz included in Tajil at 498, though he mentioned nothing about him except saying, "his freed slave," and that Habib bin Abu Thabit narrated from him. I have not found a biography of him elsewhere. He is therefore a Tabii whose person is known but whose condition is unknown, so he is presumed reliable until his situation becomes clear, and for this reason we have graded this chain hasan. In this chain there are four Tabiin in succession, Yahya, Abda, Habib, and Abu Abdullah. Then the chain became elevated so that they became three, in that Yahya bin Abu Ishaq met Habib bin Abu Thabit after having heard the hadith from Abda, so Habib related it to him directly.Haythami mentioned this hadith in Majma al-Zawaid 4:16 with this version, and with the coming version bearing another chain at 6559, then he said, Ahmad and Tabarani in Kabir related it, each of them with two chains, and the men of one of them are trustworthy. This validation applies to the chain at 6559, as we will explain in its place, Allah willing.Tirmidhi alluded to it, saying, "And on this subject," when he related the hadith of Ibn Abbas with similar wording at 2:58, and that is the hadith which has already appeared in the Musnad of Ibn Abbas at 1968 and 1969.Mubarakfuri said in his commentary on Tirmidhi, when referring to this hadith of Abdullah bin Amr, "I did not come across anyone who related it," so its sourcing can be derived from here, praise be to Allah.Something close to its meaning has also already appeared, from the hadith of Abdullah bin Amr bin As, at 5446 and 6154.As for his saying "the mahjah of his blood," it is stated in Lisan Arab, "The mahjah is the blood of the heart, and the soul does not remain once its mahjah is spilled." It was also said that mahjah is blood itself. Then he quoted from Azhari, who said, "I gave him my mahjah," meaning "I gave him myself and the purest of what I could offer." And the mahjah of anything is its purest essence. So the construction here is as though it were an addition of a thing to itself, which is common in the speech of the Arabs.
