Naji reported,

Ali said to me, "I held a position with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that no one else among creation possessed. I used to come to him every dawn and greet him with peace, and he would clear his throat in response.One night I came and greeted him, saying, 'Peace be upon you, Prophet of Allah.'He replied, 'Wait a moment, Abu Hasan, until I come out to you.'When he came out, I asked, 'Prophet of Allah, has someone angered you?'He said, 'No.'I said, 'Then why did you not speak with me as you used to, until you spoke to me tonight?'He said, 'I heard movement in the room, so I asked, "Who is this?"The voice replied, "I am Jibreel."I said, "Come in."He said, "No, come out to me."When I went out, he said, "There is something in your house that no angel will enter while it remains there."I said, "I am not aware of anything, Jibreel."He said, "Go and look."So I opened the room and found nothing in it except a puppy that Hasan had been playing with.I said, "I found nothing but a puppy."He said, "There are three things, no angel will ever enter where they are. One of them is a dog, or a state of major ritual impurity, or an image of a living being."'"

حدثنا محمد بن عبيد حدثنا شرحبيل بن مدرك الجعفي

عن عبد الله بن نجي الحضرمي عن أبيه قال

قال لي علي رضي الله عنه كانت لي من رسول الله ﷺ منزلة لم تكن لأحد من الخلائق إني كنت آتيه كل سحر فأسلم عليه حتى يتنحنح وإني جئت ذات ليلة فسلمت عليه فقلت السلام عليك يا نبي الله فقال على رسلك يا أبا حسن حتى أخرج إليك فلما خرج إلي قلت يا نبي الله أغضبك أحد قال لا قلت فما لك لا تكلمني فيما مضى حتى كلمتني الليلة قال سمعت في الحجرة حركة فقلت من هذا فقال أنا جبريل قلت ادخل قال لا اخرج إلي فلما خرجت قال إن في بيتك شيئا لا يدخله ملك ما دام فيه قلت ما أعلمه يا جبريل قال اذهب فانظر ففتحت البيت فلم أجد فيه شيئا غير جرو كلب كان يلعب به الحسن قلت ما وجدت إلا جروا قال إنها ثلاث لن يلج ملك ما دام فيها أبدا واحد منها كلب أو جنابة أو صورة روح
