I went with Ibn Umar to visit Abdullah bin Muti. Abdullah said, "Welcome, Abu Abdul-Rahman. Bring him a cushion."Ibn Umar replied, "I have only come to tell you a hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever withdraws his hand from obedience will come on the Day of Resurrection with no argument to defend himself, and whoever dies while separated from the community dies the death of pre-Islamic ignorance.'"
حدثنا عبد الملك بن عمرو حدثنا هشام يعني ابن سعد
دخلت مع ابن عمر على عبد الله بن مطيع فقال مرحبا بأبي عبد الرحمن ضعوا له وسادة فقال ابن عمر إنما جئت لأحدثك حديثا سمعته من رسول الله ﷺ سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من نزع يدا من طاعة فإنه يأتي يوم القيامة لا حجة له ومن مات وهو مفارق للجماعة فإنه يموت ميتة جاهلية
