Abdullah bin Umar reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out together with Ubayy bin Kaab, heading toward the date palms where Ibn Sayyad was. When they entered the grove, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began concealing himself behind the trunks of the palm trees, trying to catch Ibn Sayyad off guard so he might hear something from him before being noticed. Ibn Sayyad was lying on his bed wrapped in a velvet cloak, mumbling something. Then Ibn Sayyad's mother caught sight of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as he was concealing himself behind the palm trunks, so she called out, "Saf!" (which was his name), "This is Muhammad!" At that, Ibn Sayyad started up.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If she had left him alone..."
