I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a pebble in his hand, scraping away phlegm he had noticed on the qiblah wall. He said, "When one of you prays, let him not spit in front of him, for when the servant prays, he is standing in intimate conversation with his Lord, the Exalted."Muhammad said, "Wijah means 'in front of'."
حدثنا يعلى ومحمد ابنا عبيد قالا حدثنا محمد يعني ابن إسحاق قال محمد في حديثه قال حدثني نافع
رأيت رسول الله ﷺ في يده حصاة يحك بها نخامة رآها في القبلة ويقول إذا صلى أحدكم فلا يتنخمن تجاهه فإن العبد إذا صلى فإنما قام يناجي ربه تعالى قال محمد وجاه
