He mentioned the Khawarij and said about them, "Among them is a man with a deformed hand, or a stunted hand, or a shrunken hand. Were it not that you might become arrogant, I would tell you what Allah has promised, on the tongue of Muhammad, to those who kill them."I asked, "Did you yourself hear this from Muhammad?"He replied, "Yes, by the Lord of the Kaabah. Yes, by the Lord of the Kaabah. Yes, by the Lord of the Kaabah."

ذكر الخوارج فقال فيهم مخدج اليد أو مودن اليد أو مثدن اليد لولا أن تبطروا لحدثتكم بما وعد الله الذين يقتلونهم على لسان محمد قلت أنت سمعته من محمد قال إي ورب الكعبة إي ورب الكعبة إي ورب الكعبة
Its isnad is sahih. Muhammad is Ibn Sirin. Ubayda is Salmani. Mukhdaj, with damma on the meem, sukun on the kha, and fatha on the dal, means one whose limb is deficient in form, from khidaj, which means deficiency. Muwdan, with damma on the meem and a light fatha on the dal, means one with a withered, shrunken hand, it is said "wadanahu" or "awdanahu" when something is diminished or made small. Muthadan, with damma on the meem, fatha on the tha, and a doubled dal, means one whose hand is small and contracted, and muthadan and muwdan both mean one whose limb is deficient in form, as stated by Ibn Athir.
