Its isnad is sahih, and it is an abridgment of 5269 and 5524. We noted in the commentary on the first of these two that Muslim narrated it via Hajjaj bin Muhammad from Ibn Jurayj, and this is the narration of Hajjaj. We add here that Muslim also narrated it, 1:423, via Abdul-Razzaq from Ibn Jurayj, and this too is the narration of Abdul-Razzaq, since Imam Ahmad narrated it from both sheikhs, Hajjaj and Abdul-Razzaq, each of them from Ibn Jurayj.We have explained, in the commentary on 5269, the meaning of the reading "fi qubuli iddatihinna," which differs from the standard recitation, and that it is only a tafsir, not a recitation.
