I accompanied Ibn Umar for a year and a half, and I did not hear him narrate anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except one hadith. He said, "We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a lizard was brought, and the people began to eat it. One of his wives called out, 'It is a lizard!'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Eat, for it is lawful,' or, 'Eat, there is no harm in it.'"He said, "But he himself refrained." He said, "Then he said, 'It is not forbidden, but it is not part of my food.'"
