The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When Allah sends down punishment upon a people, the punishment strikes everyone among them, then Allah, the Exalted, will resurrect them according to their deeds." Thus it appears in the book.
حدثنا سريج بن النعمان حدثنا أبو شهاب عن الحجاج عن الزهري عن عبد الرحمن بن هنيدة
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا أنزل الله بقوم عذابا أصاب العذاب من كان بين أظهرهم ثم يبعثهم الله تعالى على أعمالهم كذا في الكتاب
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Shihab is Hannat the younger, Abd Rabbih bin Nafi. Hajjaj is Ibn Artah. Abdul-Rahman bin Hunayda is the freed slave of Umar, and he is a trustworthy tabi, deemed reliable by Abu Zura, Abu Dawud, and others. This hadith is a repetition of 4485 and 5890, but in those two it comes from Zuhri, from Hamza bin Abdullah bin Umar, from his father. This indicates that Zuhri heard it both from him and from Abdul-Rahman bin Hunayda, both of them narrating from Ibn Umar.As for his statement at the end, "this is how it appears in the book," it is confirmed in all three original manuscripts, and in manuscript M a marginal note marking a variant copy has been written above it. It appears that this is the statement of one of the narrators of the Musnad, affirming what is in the isnad, namely that it comes from Abdul-Rahman bin Hunayda, from Ibn Umar, since the hadith appears in the Sahihayn and elsewhere through the narration of Hamza from his father, as we noted just above.
