The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you should eat with his left hand or drink with it, for Satan eats with his left hand and drinks with it."
حدثنا يعقوب حدثنا عاصم بن محمد عن أخيه عمر بن محمد عن القاسم بن عبيد الله بن عبد الله بن عمر سمعت سالما يقول
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا يأكلن أحدكم بشماله ولا يشربن بها فإن الشيطان يأكل بشماله ويشرب بها
Its chain of transmission is sahih. It is a shortened version of 6117. We noted there that Muslim narrated it, 2:135, through Ibn Wahb, from Umar bin Muhammad, from Qasim bin Ubaydullah, from Salim. This narration corroborates the report from Asim bin Muhammad transmitted through Ibn Wahb, in adding Qasim bin Ubaydullah to the chain. Their narration is therefore more reliable than the narration of Shuja bin Walid, from Umar, from Salim, which omits Qasim from the chain.
