The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The deceased is punished by the weeping of the living."
حدثنا يعقوب حدثنا عاصم بن محمد عن أخيه عمر بن محمد عن سالم
قال رسول الله ﷺ إن الميت يعذب ببكاء الحي
Its isnad is sahih, and its meaning has already appeared, both at length and in brief, at 4865, 4959, 5262.
